An ever-evolving master of the keyboards, Jimmy Jamm, born Jimmy Vargas, bears the traits of his biggest musical influences; his parents. His personal favorite genres of music land anywhere from 90s R&B to EDM among the many his parents turned him onto. He was raised by his mother, Nora Trevino, whose musical interests ranged from The Beatles to Kenny Chesney. She would play one song in particular each day for hours on end and it became one of the first songs he learned to play on the piano. That song was Chicago's "Colour My World", which learning was undoubtedly an impressive feat for a young twelve year old. It remains a piece that is still etched in his mind to this day. Once he reached the age of 17 he moved in with his father, Julio Vargas Sr. It was by this time that music had hit its mark, and his fire for playing was ignited. He favors musical acts in various genres from Tejano to the Oldies but goodies such as "Sunny and the Sunliners". As a sound engineer, Julio Vargas Sr. took a trial by fire approach to his son's talents; setting him up with auditions within the Tejano music scene. Not being familiar with the genre or being fluent in the Spanish language, it was initially intimidating. But, it was his father's courage to carry faith in Jimmy that gave him the confidence he needed, and to further cement his belief in his son, he went out and bought him an expensive keyboard as a silent promise to not let him down.

A year later, Jimmy was singing and playing with bands his older brother, Jay Vargas, a widely renowned saxophonist in his own right, helped him get in with. This experience contributed to getting him up to speed with music theory. The boys would lock themselves in a room for months, absorbing any song they could. Since then Jimmy went on to play with over thirty different groups and artists. Having had the privilege of playing and touring with some of the best musicians while simultaneously taking nuggets of wisdom from each, he was able to shape and construct his modern day sound.

His biggest wish is now to leave his own legacy in music for his children, Jordan and Jaxon, in hopes of making them as proud of their father, as Dovle V is to play at his side!
